'His Wrath, Her Honor' by E.M. Bryant

Book blurb:

“Amuse me, would you? How many of the town’s finest have sampled your fresh eagerness?”

Nick Banes is spiteful, rude, malicious, perverted, and downright hateful...And his fury for the charitable but vulnerable Simone Silver knows no bounds. Early spring thunderstorms turn their tumultuous working relationship into a full-blown battle of wits and wills. Fueled with fire and lust, Nick torments Simone until she begins to unravel. Will he find his humanity and save her from herself, or will he let the flames consume her?

Read an excerpt:

Nick arrived an hour late, blaming the torrential rainfall. It had been a bad storm, and as Simone waited for him, the tornado sirens had gone off twice. While the atmosphere at last appeared to calm down, he was far from it.

He nodded his head at her as he stumbled into the back restaurant. Soaked head to toe, he pulled off his raincoat, saturating Astrid's freshly waxed floor. And then she was reminded that Astrid and Reese had left to gather tables and chairs. She was there alone. With Nick.

"Well, my little rain goddess," she noted immediately that his tone was even sharper than usual. "I've been meaning to ask you something." She was too nervous to even respond. "What is the going price for virginity on the market today?"

Stunned, she bit her tongue. All he had to do was sign off on the totals. . .

"Oh, come now, my dear. No need to be shy about it. Just how much is it worth to you?"

"Why?" She watched him pull off his shirt, which had even been drenched under the raincoat. He rung it out over the floor, then sat down in a chair across from her. His brown hair, which he wore longer than most men well into their 30s, hung around his face. Water droplets fell onto his shoulders and down his chest.

"Let's barter, my dear. No more games. I'm done playing."

"What are you talking about?"

He slammed his fist on the table. "'What are you talking about,' she says." As he mocked her, his eyes were fixed onto hers, and she was suddenly terribly afraid his next violent move would be against her. "I mean, YOU. What do you want in exchange for your virtue?"

She shook her head in disgust. "Why do you insist on bringing this up constantly?"

"Because I want it."

"You want my. . ."

"Yes, your virginity. I want it. I want YOU, rain goddess. Now, name your price."

Her anger overtook her fear. "How DARE you!" She stood, facing down on him. "What have I done to make you treat me this way?!"

He would have none of her temperament. He stood up, leaning over the table, making her feel small. "You brought the rain, didn't you?" He sneered in contempt. "You walk around MY town, looking the way you do, smiling and being cheerful to EVERYONE but ME. And from day one, I have suffered your simpering little small talk with Astrid, and your treacherous tongue toward me."

"You deserve my anger!"

"As you deserve MINE."

He reached over, grabbing for her. She backed up too quickly, though, and got to the bar before he was able to grab her by the waist. "NO! Let me go!" His hold was so tight, he picked her up off the floor, swinging her around to face him. She raised her hand and slapped him as hard as she could.

Another mistake.

He pinned her against the bar, pressing his body into hers, and holding her arms out to the side. He was too close for her to even kick at him, so she jerked her body maniacally, pathetically trying to twist away.

"Rain goddess," he hissed at her. "I want your price. Name it."

'From the Ashes (Fire and Rain)' by Daisy Harris

From the Ashes
by Daisy Harris

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
BLURB:
When an accident burns down Jesse’s apartment, he’s left broke and homeless, with a giant dog and a college schedule he can’t afford to maintain. And no family who’s willing to take him in.
Lucky for him, a sexy fireman offers him a place to stay. The drawback? The fireman’s big Latino family lives next door, and they don’t know their son is gay.
Tomas’s parents made their way in America with hard work and by accepting help when it was offered, so he won’t let Jesse drop out of school just so he can afford a place to live. Besides, Jesse’s the perfect roommate—funny, sweet and breathtakingly cute. He climbs into Tomas’s bed and tugs at his heart. Until Jesse starts pushing for more.
Their passion enflames their bodies but threatens to crush Tomas’s family. Tomas is willing to fight for Jesse, but after losing everything, Jesse isn’t sure he can bear to risk his one remaining possession—his heart.
Warning: Contains an angry older brother, judgmental best friends, a slobbering bull mastiff, and enough red-hot gay loving to make a porn star blush.
Read an excerpt:
The gay guys Tomas hooked up with never seemed to find what he did to them demeaning, but he’d been raised to believe it was.
That was fine when it came to hookups at strange bars in the city, but the kid curled up on his couch watching television wasn’t like those guys. He was sweet and had had a tough time. He didn’t deserve to be treated the way Tomas treated men, even if Jesse thought that’s what he wanted.
By the time he pushed open the door from his bedroom into the living room, Jesse had twisted into the fetal position on the couch, and fallen asleep.
Jess?” Tomas touched his arm, trying to shake him awake. He needed to get Jesse off the couch long enough to unfold it into a bed.
Hmm?” Jesse flopped onto his other side, almost falling off in the process.
Tomas shook his head. “All right.” He went to the other side of the loveseat and worked his arms under Jesse’s knees and shoulders. “Up you go.” He lifted.
Waking up, Jesse wrapped his arms around Tomas’s neck.
He smelled like soap from Tomas’s shower, overlaid on the scent of ashes. Jesse pressed a kiss into his shoulder.
You can take my bed tonight,” Tomas whispered. He tried to ignore the throbbing in his belly and the urge to set Jesse down and lie on top of him.
When he laid Jesse on the bed, Jesse didn’t let go. “I could be rocking your world right now,” Jesse breathed in his ear.
Soundlessly, Tomas gasped. He couldn’t leave the circle of Jesse’s arms. Jesse was stronger than he realized, and in that moment, Tomas was far too weak.
AUTHOR Bio and Links:
Birkenstock-wearing glamour girl and mother of two by immaculate conception, Daisy Harris still isn't sure if she writes erotica. Her romances start out innocently enough. However, her characters behave like complete sluts. Much to Miss Harris's dismay the sex tends to get completely out of hand.
She writes about fantastical creatures and about young men getting their freak on, and she's never missed an episode of The Walking Dead.
Author K.B. Cutter dishes on working with Margie Church on 'Love's Storm (Razor Trilogy II)'
Books to Light Your Fire is pleased to bring K.B. Cutter in today, to dish on working with author Margie Church and their collaboration 'Love's Storm.'
What was the inspiration behind The Razor Trilogy?
It was my brilliant stroke of creative genius. Oh, right, I have a co-author and she might read this, so . . . the truth will set you free - of litigation and lumps! My co-author Margie Church came up with the delicious idea of the Razor Trilogy. We exchanged emails, fleshing out this nascent story, which initially comprised of two dominant personalities in a mentor/pupil dynamic. It evolved into a compelling, sexy and thoroughly unconventional polyamorous love story.
Please tell us about the first book.
Desire's Edge is an erotic, kinky and insightful novel into a controversial subject: polyamory. It's also very much a love story. Don't be misled by the BDSM elements or its theme of a triangular relationship. It's most definitely not a "cheater" novel. Amy and Bryce Gage have a solid, loving marriage; however, Amy has a deep need to occasionally be sexually dominant with her husband. Bryce is not getting the message. Amy's solution is very unconventional. She wants her best friend, Raine, a lifestyle Domme, to mentor him. Initially, Bryce thinks it's an absurd idea, but Raine brings a new level of excitement and kink to their marriage. What was thought a temporary arrangement evolves into much more as Bryce and Amy develop deeper feelings for Raine.
When is the third book expected to be released? Any hints on what we should expect?
Margie and I hope to begin working on Razor: Love's Reflection in the fall of this year, and we hope for an early winter 2014 release. The third book will realistically deal with the lifestyle choice Amy, Bryce and Raine have made and the impact of living an unconventional lifestyle has on their family, friends and professional lives. Love's Reflection will examine what lengths they will go (willingly and sometimes unwillingly) to keep this family together– yes, that's what its' become – a family. Expect heartbreaking drama, tender love, and of course, steamy love scenes.
To which character do you most relate?
I'd say Bryce and not because he is the same gender as me. He strives to make Amy and Raine happy and loved, making tremendous personal sacrifices and mistakes, which he acknowledges along the way. His behavior mirrors my personal life, and how I treat those close to me.
What are the pros and cons of working on this series as a team?
The pros are too numerous to mention. I have learned so much from Margie Church about the craft of writing that I can never adequately pay her back. I've also gained a good friend in the process. The cons are the usual suspects: time zone differences, conflicting work schedules, family demands, and sleep deprivation.
What drives you as an author?
The love of the written word. I am a voracious reader of all sorts of genres, poetry and non-fiction. You must read in order to write.
Please tell us about your other published works.
I like to write in diverse genres. My first published work, Summer Heat, told a story of a women coming to terms with her bi-sexuality and love for her close female friend. Its sequel, Love Revisited, deals with the pain of losing a parent who never accepted your lifestyle choices and having the courage of your convictions.
My gritty, erotic paranormal romance The Darker side of Heaven, is a tale of Good vs. Evil and everything in between the fight to save humanity from encroaching darkness.
I love horror and have penned a disturbing short, Killing Apathy, about a serial killers' wry commentary on post modern suburban life. DeadFall - about a 67 year old woman who finds herself smack dab in the middle of a zombie apocalypse. In keeping with the undead theme, Undead Reflections in a Jaundiced Eye is a gritty, gory, wry and sexy romp featuring kick-ass lesbians who battle zombies. And of course, Razor: Desire's Edge and Razor: Love's Storm.
On what other projects are you currently working?
I'm always plotting in my head. I have a few stories in the works from contemporary romance to science fiction bubbling in gray matter and look forward to getting them out as fast as humanly possible as soon as the beast called Real Life gives me pause!
What is something readers may be surprised to learn about you?
I am a member of the Thin Blue Line who dabbles in romantic fiction!
Anything else you would like to add?
Read. Listen. Love.
Thank you so much for your time!
My pleasure. Thanks for allowing me to jibber jabber here!
Here's a taste of the second book in the trilogy: Love's Storm.
Razor: Love's Storm by Margie Church and K.B. Cutter
Their delicious, naughty secret is out, and it's open season on Amy and Bryce's decision to add a third person to their marriage.
All the talking in the world can't convince critics that Amy and Bryce's marriage is rock-solid, and there are no secrets between them. Others meddle to undermine Bryce's business and marriage. Even Raine's Master thinks she's making a huge mistake.
With no allies, and scorn coming from every direction, love and determination must lead Amy, Bryce, and Raine through love's storm.
Their journey began in Razor: Desire's Edge and continues after Love's Storm in Love's Reflection.
ADULT EXCERPT:
Raine reached for a mug in a cupboard. The hem of her long T-shirt rose with the motion, exposing one, prefect ass cheek.
Bryce stood at the kitchen doorway, arms folded across his bare chest. "Remind me to put everything on the highest shelf."
She turned with the mug held between her breasts, and peered at him with an arched eyebrow. "I'm surprised you're awake. I didn't think you'd have the stamina to get out of bed."
Bryce snorted. "The lady forgets one of my talents is endurance."
Raine placed her mug on the granite island. Her tongue flicked over her upper lip as her gaze lowered to his crotch.
"Bit cocky, aren't we?"
The throaty, sensual tone of her voice aroused him. Her regal poise commanded his full attention, as did her lithe body. Full breasts strained against cotton fabric. The hem of her shirt barely concealed her exquisite, trimmed mound and rounded ass.
Bryce clenched his jaw. The time for playful banter ended. He closed the distance between them in long, determined strides. He slid his hands slid under the shirt, cupping her breasts.
Raine looked up at him, eyes shimmering.
Did he detect a lustful spark flaring in those liquid onyx depths?
With a fingernail, she traced his jaw line. "Are you hungry, Mr. Gage?"
Bryce leaned in, nuzzling her nape. "Famished."
"Your beard is scratching me."
He pulled his head back, offering a rueful smile. "Sorry for the abrasions."
Raine snaked an arm around his waist. She scraped his lower back with her fingernails hard enough to get his attention. "My submissive is forgetful. I'm not a delicate flower petal, easily bruised."
Her fingers trailed up his spine, then slid into his hair, and caressed his scalp. Arching her back, she applied gentle pressure to the back of his head, guiding it forward. With her free hand, Raine pulled up the hem of her T-shirt, exposing a breast.
"I want you."
Bryce emitted a low growl, his unshaven face grazing her areola as he hungrily suckled the nipple.
"Uh, you two, get a room. Oh wait, you have one."
At the sound of Amy's voice, Bryce jolted upright, as though a bolt of electrical energy lashed his backside. He offered his wife a weak smile.
My God, why do I feel like a teenager busted by my parents for making out in the living room?
Raine pulled down her shirt, and gracefully smoothed the material over her hips. She opened the cupboard, and took out another coffee mug. She glanced over her shoulder. "Hey, girlfriend. Coffee? Freshly brewed."
Amy leaned against the archway, stifling a yawn. "Good morning. Yes, please."
Amy walked into the kitchen, and sat at the table.
Bryce watched her gaze follow Raine's fluid movements. Her nipples poked the flannel nightshirt she wore. Her sleep-tangled, blond locks spilled to her shoulders. Hooded eyes and bedroom husky voice gave the appearance she'd just left her spent lover in tousled sheets.
If I play my cards right—
"Bryce, be a dear and pour Amy some coffee."
Raine's soft, yet authoritative voice dispelled the erotic fantasy unreeling in his mind. "Sure."
He busied himself with pouring milk into the coffee, and then stirred in a teaspoon of sugar.
Raine walked to Amy, leaned over, and gave her a quick a kiss on the cheek. "You feel okay? You seem worn out."
Amy sighed. "I'm exhausted. Got in late last night from my business trip to Connecticut. The new client made me jump through a ton of hoops. I think the woman is part vampire. She nearly sucked the life out of me. To top it off, there was a bus accident on I-95 that snarled traffic for miles. I'm glad you kept Bryce company last night. Sorry for my snarky remark earlier. I didn't mean to come off cranky. If my husband gets his tight ass in gear, the coffee might perk me up."
Bryce grimaced. "Yeah, right, sorry." He brought the mug to her. Bending down, he kissed her fully on the lips. The mixture of scents—Raine's, Amy's, and his own—made him moan.
Amy glanced at him, her lips curling in a knowing smirk.
Raine sipped her mug, the steam wreathing her dark features. "I'm going to skip breakfast this morning, and go take a shower before I head out to my condo. I have so much work to do, and I need to make sure my plants are more than withered stalks."
She walked over to Amy, and stroked her arm. "You kids have a good morning. I'll catch up with both of you later." Raine flashed Bryce a mischievous grin.
Amy smiled while squeezing Raine's hand. "Bye. Thanks for the coffee. I'll catch up with you later."
K.B. Cutter:
Born and bred Long Islander, I grew up working class poor. There were few escapes for me:
The beach, the bay and books. I fell in love with all three.
As I grew older, I became a voracious reader. The natural evolutionary process lead me to write. I filled countless marble composition notebooks with my fevered scribblings.  Eventually, with the aid of modern technology, namely the PC, Microsoft Word and the internet, I was blessed to find an exceptional interactive writing forum. For years I wrote in every conceivable genre and sub-genre.
While I am a member of the Thin Blue Line at night, during the day I create stories of erotic romance and dark horror. One day, I will marry the two successfully. The results, I hope, will be bloody sexy!
'College Days & Carnal Nights: Spiral of Firsts' by Kelda Mystern
Blurb:
Joyce Venera would admit she had a pretty sweet life. She had both a father willing to pay her way and a promiscuous night-life most would kill for in the prime of her life. But just because she had it easy didn’t mean her friends did.
Her best friend, Raven Noels, worked a boring day job as a barista trying to make ends meet while maintaining a rivalry with the Latina bombshell Carmella, who managed to get ahead of her in both social and financial circumstances despite coming from the same upbringing and suffering from the same pain. She felt entitled to a good thing and believed she had found it in Dominic Santos.
Naturally Joyce was inclined to help her friend get the guy she was crushing on. There was only one little problem…she was already sleeping with him.
Tensions rise as she tries to help Raven connect with him while keeping her in the dark about their carnal nights. And what starts with entering his inner circle of friends ends with her finding herself in love for the first time and the pain that come with it.
College Days & Carnal Nights: Spiral of Firsts is the first of a brand new series in the New Adult Genre and follows the lives college students from different origins running through the motions of Love, Betrayals, and Misunderstandings.
Warning! This novel contains graphic sexual scenes and language only appropriate for readers 18 years or older. All characters depicted in this story are over 18 years of age.
Excerpt:
Joyce saw her father out and waited for him to drive off before she called out loud enough to reach Mike through the walls. “He’s gone!”
The door opened and Mike walked out, honestly happy for her to have regained a bit of control over her life again.
She ran up and embraced him, giddy with joy and high on elation. “It worked! It worked!”
He remained calm in contrast to her excitement that seemed to swell and render her speechless.
Unable to find decipherable words for how she felt, she allowed her body to express itself, taking them both by surprise as her lips lunged for his and connected. With her conscious mind catching up to her body and pulling back her head, Joyce found herself swallowing as the looming sensation between them that moment seemed to spark something. “Um…”
“What was that?” Mike asked, noting the subtle shift in emotions and atmosphere. Everything seemed lighter and he felt himself getting warmer and his throat dry.
Joyce herself couldn’t explain it. Was it just gratefulness for everything he’d done? No, that was part of it, but not the whole. There was something deeper that led to the kiss that was spontaneous and…well, not bad.
It was a compulsion that rose up from her subconscious, a base desire that she hadn’t experienced before. The manifestation of that feeling she had but couldn’t describe before now until that instant. Thus, when she wrapped her arms around his head and started breathing heavier as she inched towards his face again, it was somewhat of a surprise to her as well.
“I don’t know,” she admitted, eyes closing softly as her head moved on its own. If she had to explain how it felt, it was as though the morning sun had shone on a budding rose and caused it to bloom within seconds, an event that should be slow arising instantly. It was intoxicating, sending her heart into a frantic beat as her body screamed for her to indulge in what was about to transpire. “But it feels…nice…”
At the same time Mike was also unable to escape the torrent of familiar emotions that followed—one that was a blend of lust and love he had suffered for in the past. It was like a nostalgic and raging landslide, rushing forward and barreling over all doubts and fears and dragging them into a single mass of uncertainty. Lust-fueled thoughts and genuine concerns blended seamlessly as she kissed him again and bewitched him with the softness of her lips.
It was a gentle feeling, as soft and pliable as a marshmallow while just as sweet, different than the raw and lewd ecstasy of sex, but satisfying all the same. Moreover, it was addictive. The fact that they managed to separate after for a moment seemed almost painful.
Joyce leaned more into his larger frame, unsure of what was guiding her but following at what felt like the promise of a greater pleasure than ever before if she continued. Whatever it was between them now was powerful, even if spontaneous. Without a second thought she kissed him thrice more, putting her full weight into it as the rush of sweet desire swallowed them both and rationality faded to the backdrop.
Their minds and bodies gave up control and gave into something greater until they split apart in response to the need for air.
“I’m sorry. I don’t know what’s come over me. You’re different from the other guys I’ve been with, in a good way.” Joyce had a soft smile on her face, clinging to his warm body as a sense of security and comfort flowed into her. “I just like being near you and touching you…”
“You think you’re in love with me?” he asked skeptically, eyebrows arched.
“I’ve never been in love before,” she reminded him gently of their conversation during the car ride that night at the club. “Is this what it’s supposed to feel like?”
“I think so…” He recalled the long-lost relationship that normally tore at his heart. Only this time he could clearly feel traces of what there was in the beginning, before the ugliness. “The last time I was in a relationship it felt the same at first. Unable to keep your hands off one another, the need to be touched and everything…”
“In that case…” Joyce trailed off as she looked into his eyes again. She wanted more of the foreign experience found within the husky man she was with, more of his warmth and everything that entailed. “Listen, I know this must be awkward and the fact that I might not be right in the head, maybe even a little needy, but…would you like to go out with me?”
“I don’t know. Rushing seems like a good idea now and the first part is fine while the high is there, but what’s waiting there after the magic fades away? Being in love is like being on drugs, great for a moment but the consequences stick for a lifetime.”
“I want to try.” She lifted his hand and interlocked her fingers with his. “I want us to try. In all honesty, even though this feeling is so new to me and almost overwhelming, I think it’ll be fine. This is our bodies telling us that this could work, that we can guide each other—you can teach me what love is and I can show you that you’re perfect the way you are.”
“I…I guess I’m just being paranoid,” he conceded, putting on a fragile smile as he looked down. “Maybe this is fate’s way of telling us to try, given how we suddenly met and then meshed. I mean, we just happened to randomly bump into each other outside the diner and go to the same university—”
His voice didn’t reach her after that as the pleasant feeling in her stomach dropped when he mentioned that meeting. The one she orchestrated. She considered telling him it wasn’t so much fate as it was a plot to get close to him and wring out information…
That sounds bad, she concluded.
In the end, she couldn’t confess out of fear. Fear that this delightful feeling they shared would become tainted if she admitted it was built up on less than nice intentions, rather than fate. Fear that the sweet man in front of her would be hurt once again. So she embraced the lie as her new truth.
Giving him another kiss and losing herself in his crystalline-blue eyes she asked, “Where should we go for our first date?”
“It’s been awhile since I’ve done this so…can I get back to you on it in a few minutes?”
“Sure.” Joyce broke the hold she had on him and placed her hands behind her back as she backed away. “I’m gonna go change into something comfortable and call up Eve and tell her I’m in love for the first time. I’m so excited!”
Mike watched her until she entered her room and then sighed with a small, unsure smile. It honestly felt like they were rushing things and he had been burned before. Sure she didn’t mind he was a little husky, but in the past his ex didn’t either. Was he really ready to get back out there?
Read an excerpt
Hey Sam.” I pecked her lips with a quick kiss. “I'm sorry I'm so late. I got caught up.”
“Hey Cevin. That's okay. I've been sitting here enjoying a Cinnamon Latte' without you, admiring the hot guy in the corner.” She nodded as she sipped from her mug, the steam telling me she hadn't been here long herself.
I turned to see what guy she was talking about.
“Gotcha.” She giggled. “How was your test?”
Rolling my eyes I couldn't help but to grin at Sam's school girl giggle. She was always playing practical jokes, I should have been used to it by now. “It was fine, I felt a little distracted, but think I still did okay. How was yours?” I blew on my own Cinnamon Latte that Sam had waiting for me, hoping I didn't burn my tongue rendering me unable to speak for the next week. One thing you could count on was the coffee always being hot here.
“I felt distracted too, but I think maybe a kiss I experienced with some great looking guy beforehand had something to do with it.” She smiled.
“Oh yeah? What guy are you talking about? I may have to kick someone's ass.”
“Oh...I don't know. He's tall, dark hair and gorgeous brown eyes. I hear he's pretty good in bed too.”
I stood quickly making my chair screech with the movement. “That's it. I'm busting someone's chops!”
Sam jumped up and kissed me. “The only chops your busting pal, are mine. Let's go.” Sam headed for the door.
I stood staring at her ass for a moment, savoring the beauty of it, so round and tight.
“You coming?”
Feeling my shaft thickening in my jeans, I bolted after her. I was going to be busting something, and it wasn't going to be her chops.
I chased Sam at a light jog the entire way to my apartment. She giggled as we tore up the steps, enjoying being chased. If I got too close, she would sprint faster to get away. A game well played.
I fumbled with the keys, in a hurry to get inside. As soon as the door closed, Sam shoved me against the wall so hard the art frames hanging on it rattled. Leaning down to kiss her I returned the favor, spinning her around pinning her hands above her head. The warmth of her lips invited me, my tongue meeting hers with a pleasurable moistness. I explored her mouth once again, running my tongue behind her teeth.
My cock strained against the front of my pants, begging to get free. I kept her hands pinned above her head with one hand, fondling her breast with the other. I felt an animal-like desire arise in me, and I wanted to dominate Sam like never before. Ripping her shirt open, buttons clattered to the hardwood floor. Quickly undoing her bra I freed her plump, round tits. A low growl formed in my chest as I took in her very scent. Her smell drove me mad. Flicking my tongue across her nipple she let out a small moan of pleasure, closing her eyes. Pulling her hardened peak further into my mouth, I felt it tighten even more with arousal as I gently sucked.
She fumbled with the button on my jeans trying to get at my cock. Finally free, and growing even bigger with the now unlimited space, she stroked my shaft from the base to my tip where moistness was already forming in anticipation.
I slid her pants off her hips, my fingers gliding to her mound. She spread her legs giving me easier access as I pushed the fabric aside. Sliding a finger in between her folds, I slowly circled her clit. She moaned again, this time louder causing my manhood to spring more stiffly to the occasion. It was turning me on so bad every time she moaned. I slid my fingers into her wetness, as she stroked my cock faster I ripped her lace panties from her body. Stepping out of her pants, she wrapped her legs around my waist, easily sliding her wetness around my girth.
“I want it now.” She panted.
