The
Bannockburn Spell

BLURB:
With
the help of a bet, an eight-hundred-year-old marriage contract, and a
spell, ex-SBS soldier Will might just have enough in his arsenal to
capture Meghan’s heart.
Since
arriving in Little Glen, Scotland, Meghan Kennedy’s life has got
decidedly more interesting. She enters into a bet with hunky ex-SBS
soldier, William MacKenzie, discovers an ancient marriage contract
and to top it all off, she learns that she had a spell cast on
her…eight hundred years before she was even born. None of it
matters, because she refuses to make the same mistake twice. Will’s
hard body and sexy grin don’t matter, his beautiful hypnotic eyes
don’t matter, and it doesn’t matter that every time they kiss her
body calls out for his, as though denied of his touch for hundreds of
years.
Ex-SBS
soldier William MacKenzie is disciplined, trained to be an efficient
soldier and he takes the same approach with his life as he does his
business. Then Meghan arrives, with her fiery temper and hair to
match, all he can think about is Meghan. Her feisty temper bemuses
him, her beauty astounds him and her stubbornness annoys the hell out
of him. Lucky for him, he doesn’t know how to quit, he can be just
as stubborn and occasionally ruthless, and he will use any means
necessary to get her. Of course the ‘means’ at his disposal just
happen to be a bet, a marriage contract and an ancient spell, but if
in the end Meghan belongs to him, who is he to argue?

Read an exclusive excerpt:
“I can’t believe I let you talk me into this.”
“Stop bitching. It’s not going to hurt you to take a vacation.”
“Vacation!” Meghan snorted into the phone. “You call getting chased out of my home, my work and my country a vacation?”
Ryan laughed into the phone.
She loved to hear him laugh and it wasn’t because he was her little brother, but because his laugh always made her smile.
“This was the easiest way. Now I can hunt that prick down and not have to worry about you in the process. Besides location, what else is going to change? You’ll be with family, Dad is just a younger version of Duncan and as long as you have your laptop you can work anywhere. On top of that, it can be a vacation.”
“I’ll miss shopping and my friends.” She pouted. “I’ll miss shopping with my friends. Who am I kidding. I’ll just miss the shopping.”
Ryan chuckled. “Your friends want this as much as I do and I’m sure you’ll get your chance to hit the stores over there.” There was a brief pause. “Duncan is excited to see you. It’s been a long time since you’ve seen him.”
“Same amount of time as you.” She bumped into a man who stopped in front of her. She mouthed a ‘sorry’ and continued to search for her flight’s luggage carousel.
“I know. But I can’t get away right now. I have to reopen my case on your ex.”
“I’m sorry, Ryan.” She bumped someone else. This time it was a woman from her flight, the one with the little boy who had kept giggling at a movie she had put on for him. She smiled her apology and worked her way around to the far side of the carousel where only a few people stood waiting. “I never thought Rob would come out of jail ready to hunt me down.”
“I know.” Ryan sighed. “I didn’t mean anything by it. Hey, I’ve got a long list of people that want you to email them once you’re settled. Number one being Mum.”
“I will,” she promised.
“Listen, I have to catch my Captain before he leaves so I can fill him in. When I have something I’ll email.”
“Okay.” She rubbed her temple. “God, I sound so pathetic,” she mumbled into the phone. It wasn’t like she wasn’t going to see him again. This relocation was only temporary.
“Aww! I’ll miss you too, big sis,” Ryan teased.
“Shut up!” she mumbled jokingly, ending the call with Ryan laughing on the other end.

I have

the easiest part of my day.
I have
three small -but legal- addictions: bed lines, lavender, and books.
All of which, are replenished on a regular basis. Reading into the

spontaneously rearranging furniture and randomly painting rooms in my

ReplyDeleteYes! Thank you so much for having me today! :-)
DeleteSo what inspired this book, if you don't me asking?
ReplyDeleteMoonsurfer123 (at)gmail(dot)com
'Morning Anas!
DeleteThat’s a great question.
I sometimes get insomnia and when it’s in full swing, I usually read to help pass the time. This particular night I didn’t have a book on the go, so I decided to close my eyes and try to sleep. My mind however had other ideas and soon I was envisioning this feisty redhead take on this huge Scottish Lord, in more ways than one. *wink wink* LOL
For over a week that same story line kept popping in my head every time I went to bed that I finally typed out an outline for it in the middle of the night. And that outline spawn two different books, No Matter When and The Bannockburn Spell.
Whew! lol
What an exciting book! Enjoyed the excerpt. Thanks for the giveaway.

BookLady...Cute name!
DeleteThanks for stopping by to check things out!
What do you like to do when you are not writing?
ReplyDeleteLyra.lucky7(at)gmail(dot)com
Lyra.lucky7(at)gmail(dot)com
Free time...Hmmm. Usually I’m corralling my kids. I don’t always like it but it has become a necessary part of surviving. LOL
DeleteSeriously, I enjoy reading, watching movies (but I don’t like it when the hero dies), also, I enjoy taking my dogs out for runs and... corralling oops! I mean spending time with my family. Oh! And I love doing things around the house, painting, rearranging furniture, small home improvement projects that drive my husband crazy. LOL
Love the excerpt, I want to read more.

Awesome! Keep following along the tour, there will be more!
DeleteI love the idea of an ancient marriage contract! How did you come up with the title?
ReplyDeletehopefull1978(at)gmail(dot)com
Actually, the idea of the marriage contract came after I thought about the beginning of the book. Originally, I had the two main characters families tied to one another through the Battle of Bannockburn. (I just love history!) Two Lairds fighting for The Bruce, one Laird saves the other and in order to repay his debt he suggests a marriage contract to bind the two clans together and the Bruce approves...yada yada yada
DeleteThat was the first idea I had, from there the story and idea went through many...many rewrites.
How many you ask? So many I think I ‘ve blanked some out! LOL
Thanks much for the great question.
Who would you like to play your hero and heroine, should your book be picked for a movie?
ReplyDeleteanzuazura(at)yahoo(dot)de
Oh my Gosh! I love this game!
DeleteHmm...* rubbing my chin* (I’m trying to make it look like I’m actually thinking about when in reality I already know.)
Gerard Butler as William and Amy Adams as Meghan. Bam...that movie is casted.
Or...I can do it, I really don’t think I’ll have a problem clearing my schedule. (Especially if GB is going to be there) LOL
I’m ready to play another round!
Thanks for sharing the blurb and the excerpt! I'd love to be chased out of my country into the arms of a delightful foreign hunk :)

How does he get the spell if it was cast hundreds of years ago?
ReplyDeleteemmasreadings(At)gmail(Dot)com
Oh geez! I sooo want to tell you but I can't. It will spoil it for the other. But you can always grab a copy and check it out.
DeleteAh, I have insomania as well, but I don't have the drive to write down my ideas :)

Freetofall00(AT)gmail(DOT)com

ReplyDeletejibriel.o(AT)web(DOT)de
I look forward to you reading more too! lol
DeleteHope you're able to check out the other excerpts.
Hm, I'm not sure it's nice of him to use spells and contracts to get what he wants, at least that wouldn't endear him to me and if Meghan is firce, I don't think she'll take coercision kindly.
ReplyDeleteemiliana25(at)web(dot)de
Ahh don't you worry. It's not as bad as it sounds and trust me Meghan can hold her own. (In other words she makes his life a little hellish.) LOL
DeleteBut's all I'm say'in.
Haha! Loved the excerpt!
ReplyDeletejustforswag(AT)yahoo(DOT)com
The blurb tells me I'm in for a fantastic read.
