He surrendered his soul to the Devil. She’s the only one who can get it back.

The vampire that turned him promised him wealth, power, and the revenge he most wanted. But Christian found no satisfaction in his final triumph, and he wanted nothing more than to disappear into the depths of darkness and forget everything he hadn’t done right-- and everyone he couldn’t save.

But when he's brought before his Master and sent on a mission to seduce Heather Macgregor, he finds himself captive to the untrained red-headed witch who wakes him to buried longings and something he never expected: hope. In her bed he finds passion without boundaries and in her heart, redemption. But Heather also unwittingly provides him with the key to his Master’s obsession, the Light Walker Loti Dupree.

Now a pawn in a dangerous game, Christian must make an impossible choice: save the one who saved his soul and condemn the World to darkness or save the world and forever lose the only love he’s ever known.

Jungle Beauty Goddesses Series by C.G. Sturges

***************************

Do you have any tattoos? Where? When did you get it/them? Where are they on your body?

I don’t have any tattoos. I plan to get a tattoo –maybe in my 70s. It gives me something to look forward to. I don’t have anything against tattoos—I get bored easily. It would be torture for me not to be able to change it or remove it quickly.

Is your life anything like it was two years ago?

Externally to the casual observer, one could say that nothing about my life has changed. I drive the same car. I have the same address. I wear the same size in clothes and shoes. I have the same people in my inner circle. I have the same job.

However spiritually, psychologically, and philosophically—everything about my life has changed within the last two years. I am in my mid-fifties; however, I feel like I just “grew up” “or have become a full grown “adult” within the last few years. I literally just learned that life isn’t “textbook fair” and that the combination of hard work and being a pushover is not the solution to accomplishing your supreme dream. I have learned within the last two years that being physically touch is the easy part. My mother told me that if someone hits me to hit them back. This has been a breeze in comparison to being psychologically and emotionally tough. I haven’t learned how to pretend that something doesn’t hurt my feelings. I haven’t learned how to not care about negative things that people say about me, my family, or my work.

I have learned that the notion of good and evil is very subjective and that it is very important always to protect your aura, your possessions, your relationships, and your loved ones. I have some very powerful rituals, prayers, candles, oils, and incense.

Gratitude is the most potent emotional energy in the universe. I believe it fuels the angelic and spiritual realm to bring about change into your life.

I started wearing pink hair about six months ago, only on the weekends when I wasn’t teaching in the classroom. I pondered as to whether I should wear my pink hair on campus. I knew that wearing pink hair to work would be a mission statement that says; “I am content with who I am, where I am—and I have no desire to be promoted to administration. My professional advancement and growth stops here.”

I decided that I love teaching and I am a writer so I did the unthinkable—I started wearing pink hair to work. What surprised me is that more people started speaking to me, complimenting my hair, and sharing their life stories with me while riding the elevators or walking to class.

It seems like being true to myself has made me more approachable.

Jungle Beauty Goddesses “Pretty Blue” Book 1

If you were given planet Earth as a gift to develop its life forms—would the world be a better place than it is today? What would your primary expectation and goal be for each human? Would you give them free will or plan their destiny? Would you demand that your humans worship you as their creator? Would you be available to assuage their every desire; and acquiesce to their demands, prayers, and wishes? Would you grow to resent them for living the life you imagined?

The Jungle Beauty Goddesses were free-spirited goddesses who enjoyed their freedom as the youngest children—and the last deities born to their parents—creators of the universe. Per the family tradition of being awarded a planet, the septuplets were given planet Earth as a gift for their birthday. Their siblings, also gods and goddesses of the universe since the beginning of time, warn them about the challenges of selflessness, power, worship, and divine duty.

The seven sisters struggle to maintain their own freedom as limitless beings, while sibling rivalry makes it difficult to accept their collective duty to fulfill the family obligation to the deity-hood as creators for planets.

The entire universe threatens to collapse due to their negligence and disobedience. They question the boundaries of their divine powers as they ponder whether it is possible to mold a being to be superior to its creator.

Jungle Beauty Goddesses “Aquatic Ball” Book 2

Sometimes your worst nightmare is having everything you ever wanted. Upon visiting planet Earth, the Jungle Beauty Goddesses discover that the life forms they created are in danger of extinction, and an unforeseen dominant species has positioned itself to take dominion.

Unprepared and disillusioned about how to access their highest vibrational frequency; the Jungle Beauty Goddesses face their own demise.

The only way they can save themselves, their planet, and ultimately the universe is by managing to align with their deity powers and the wisdom of their highest selves in the face of their worst fears, disappointments, and betrayals.

Jungle Beauty Goddesses “Dirty Ball” Book 3

If you had the power to make anyone in the world fall in love with you—would you? Jungle Beauty Goddess Afar revokes her deity vows and takes her destiny into her own hands by participating in the life she was born to create for others.

Afar embraces the deepest, darkest nuances of her shadow self with brutality, dignity, and integrity. She brazenly unleashes the murkiest qualities of the human condition and leaves the chaos for her unsuspecting sisters to clean up or suffer the consequences of losing the planet given to them by their parents--creators of the universe.

Jungle Beauty Goddess Afar’s actions give a new meaning to the saying, “Hell has no fury like a woman scorned.”

Read an excerpt from the series:
“They will never have to worry about a male demanding to be let into their being or feeling betrayed by another female who decides to do so. Their fishtails represent the wholeness of femininity; nothing can be taken away or added to who they are as complete beings. They are capable of reproducing themselves without males. I have decided that ten percent of the hybrid fish human water beings will be males; however, they will not be capable of reproducing, and they will only be attracted to other males. This is the best way for me to control masculine energy so that it aligns with feminine power and domination.” Afar continued to style the hair on various heads, never looking up at Mada.

Swish. Bloop. Engh.Engh. Engh. Swoosh. Blurp. Blurp. Sheesh. Sheesh. Bloop. Engh.Engh. Engh.

The loud silence of the hybrid half fish half human beings, swimming in the aquariums, fills the air in the room between Afar and Mada.

Mada walks around the table to Afar, places his hands on her shoulders, pulls her close to him, and asks, “Why are you so aloof, distant, and cold?”

“You mean like your kisses, dahling?” Afar quipped, looking deeply into Mada’s eyes.

“What happened to you? Have you gone mad?...Where is the woman? I fell in love with? Hhmm?” Mada asked.

“Under the apple tree waiting for the man who promised to adore her, pacing back and forth searching for him night after night, year after year; listening to the echo of his voice in her head promising that he would love only her,” Afar says nonchalantly before laughing deeply. “She is where you left her, dahling.”

Describe your book in one sentence or fewer than 25 words.

An irritable half-demon tries to deny his love for a brilliant witch.
What was the inspiration behind this book?
Amelia and Orion have been secondary characters in other Wild Witches of Beaver Bay books. The first time I wrote a scene with them together, I knew they had to have a story of their own.
Which character was your favorite to write?
In this particular book, I loved writing Orion, but he has always been a difficult character, so there were times when he wasn’t easy to write. I also loved writing about Orion’s mentor, Lucas, who will be getting his own story in the upcoming Heaven’s Demons series.
Will we see these characters again?
You’ll definitely be seeing Amelia and Orion again, both as secondary characters and in another story that focuses on them in the Heaven’s Demons series.
What do you hope people will get out of your book?
I hope people will be entertained and find characters they either love or hate. Sometimes you connect strongly to characters as a writer, but that doesn’t always mean others will feel the same way. I always hope readers feel some kind of emotion for my characters.
On what are you currently working?
Right now I’m working on the last story in the Fangs and Fists series. It focuses on David and Jinx, a witch warrior and a demon, and also Maddy and Haylen, the hero and heroine of Fangs and Fists 4. Fangs and Fists, Wild Witches of Beaver Bay, and the upcoming Heaven’s Demons series are all part of the Pandemonium multiverse.
What is your favorite part about writing?
Getting to know my characters.
What is your least favorite part about writing?
Writing blurbs and titles.
What are you currently reading? Up next on your TBR?
Right now I’m reading several different things. I’m reading a comic book series called Zorro and the Swords of Hell. I’m also reading The Merman’s Kiss by Tamsin Ley and Killer Cupcakes by Leighann Dobbs.
When not writing, what can we find you doing?
I enjoy working out, reading, and watching horror movies. On my Compelling Beasts blog, you can find monthly posts about the horror movies I watched during the previous month, and also occasional recommendations for movies and comics I’ve enjoyed. The blog also has guest posts from authors highlighting their antagonists, antiheroes, and paranormal characters.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
Thank you for hosting me and thank you to your visitors for reading my post.

Denying her love for her childhood friend, Jeff, Trinity visits her family’s ancestral land, believing the Wild family magic has called her there to meet her soulmate. Instead she finds danger at every turn, but she won’t have to face it alone.

Jeff has loved Trinity his whole life, but settled for friendship after she broke his heart on prom night. Now this soldier turned firefighter faces the supernatural to protect Trinity and convince her once and for all that they belong together.

Read an excerpt:
“Jeff --”

“Trinity, I know you and I will never be a couple, but I will always be your friend. That means I can’t let you come up here alone to meet this guy. If he’s the one for you, if he’s safe, then I promise you that I will back the hell off and will never interfere. Just let me stick around until you’re sure everything is okay.”

“You’re on vacation, Jeff, and you work hard all year long. Don’t you at least want to relax and do what you want instead of wasting your time babysitting me?”

“You don’t need a babysitter, and if there’s a chance you might not be safe up here, then there’s no way I’m going to enjoy myself.”

“You think about me too much.”

“We’re friends. I’d be worried about any of my friends in this situation.”

Trinity raised an eyebrow and smiled knowingly. “So if your buddy Carl from the firehouse was up here to meet the woman of his dreams, you’d follow him to make sure she wouldn’t slip poison into his beer?”

Jeff’s expression stiffened. “Fine. Make jokes. I don’t care. Once we meet Mr. Right and he seems like a normal guy, I’ll go.”

She shouldn’t feel guilty about poking fun at him, but she did because she knew he cared about her. She cared about him, too, and he was right. No matter what happened, that would never change.

House of Ruin by Miriam Newman with Sneak Peek!

It's a doubly special day today! Not only do you get to take a look into House of Ruin, the latest book in the Scion science fiction romance series by Miriam Newman, but she is also giving us a sneak peek into her upcoming titles! Please enjoy and let her know what you think! Follow the tour for more. And of course, best of luck entering the giveaway!

********************************

As my readers know, I write romance across many subject areas. I really don’t have a favorite. Historical, fantasy and science fiction are where I mainly concentrate—according to where the muse takes me. Currently it wanted me to complete my science fiction romance series, Scion, which I have done. Book II: House of Ruin is being featured right now. Book I: House of Bardin is still available, and Book III: House of the 12th Planet, soon will be.

Later this year DCL Publications will be presenting an ancient times romance called “Warlord.” Don’t miss the cover on that one! If ancient times are not your thing—although I love them--you can try the Siege of Jerusalem in the historical romance, “Land of Shadow.”

And finally, right now I am working on both a prequel and a sequel to my book The Comet, historical romance set around the time of the Norman conquest. There were so many good secondary characters in that one, I couldn’t resist. If you like knights, look for those.

When the beleaguered citizens of the capitol city of Thelona are swept by plague in the absence of their ruling class, which has fled it en masse, desperation finally pushes them to take to the streets. With their city burning, the Lords of Thelona have no choice but to shoulder the burden of responsibility. In the absence of their Highest, they turn to Caius, Scion of the House of Bardin. He has unwittingly placed himself in the path of his ruler’s ambitions and also endangered his human slave, Lela.

Read an excerpt:
Lela hoped for a peaceful day next day, since many of their guests had departed, but at mid-morning she heard Gracchu’s mutter from the front doorway. “Well, here comes trouble.”

The women were once more scrubbing down the sooty entryway that seemed like it would never be clean. One by one, though, they stood to crane their necks and peer out the door. It was so unusual for Gracchu to comment upon any visitor that she and the others feared some catastrophe, but the tears Lela felt start in her eyes were those of mirth and she looked at Dinitra helplessly. The dignified housekeeper was red in the face and took a moment to collect herself.

“Oh, go on then,” Dinitra said, giving their mountainous house guard an ineffectual shove. “Go help her!”

Shooting her an evil look, Gracchu stomped ungraciously down the circular drive and through Caius’s iron gate towards which an apparition struggled

Vena had not lost a single pound since Lela had seen her before Solstice. If anything, the dressmaker had increased in girth, and the sight of her unequal battle with gravity as she hauled herself up Camini Hill threw the watching women into gales of laughter. If they had not known her vanity, they would have had more sympathy.

But Vena, who had just survived conflagration, was gowned in a vast expanse of priceless silver brocade. The jewels encasing rolls of fat at her neck should have guaranteed her death; how she had made it through the citizenry alive was a question no one would ever be able to answer. Her towering mountain of jet-dyed hair was seriously askew, but it too was threaded with real silver. Teetering on heeled footwear, she could not have outrun anyone. Lela suspected sheer bravado and the stunned disbelief of onlookers had preserved her dressmaker’s life. Probably by the time footpads had stopped speculating on whether her jewels could possibly be real Vena had tottered past them and down some bolt hole known only to her.

“Bring wine,” Dinitra instructed one of the young slave girls. “Plenty.”

Can CC and Holly find common ground and take their love across the finish line?

Restart in Bristol is the third standalone novel in the Racing Hearts in Serenity contemporary romance series. If you like bad boys with a heart of gold, strong women, and a touch of new age spirituality, then you’ll adore Sedona Hutton’s fun, sexy romance.

Read an excerpt:
Holly rolled to her side, plucked a daisy, and pulled off the first white petal. “He loves me,” she said in a sing-song tone. “He loves me not.” She slid to his side as she tossed the next petal over her shoulder. As she continued, he mentally counted ahead of her and was pleased that the game ended in his favor.

But she put the daisy down when there were three petals left and picked up her glass. What the hell?

“Hey,” he protested, narrowing his eyes. “You didn’t finish.”

She shrugged. “It’s all fun and games.”

He didn’t know why it mattered so much, but it did. Even though he knew it was silly, he couldn’t let it go.

“You can’t stop in the middle.” He took her glass and put it on the ground.

She gave him a playful nudge. “Who are you—the game cop?”

He caught her wrist and rolled on top of her. “Maybe I am,” he said, his voice low and husky. “Maybe it matters.”

She pushed him off her and reversed their positions so she was on top. “I’ll give you something that matters.”

He liked where this was going. Grinning, he lifted his palms. “I’m at your beck and call.”

She let out a low laugh. The soft, sexy sound reverberated through his insides, making him feel playful and nostalgic, and with Holly stretched on top of him, a little randy, too.

“Whatever I want?” she asked, her breath hot against his cheek.

Creating Ruby, Wyoming from The Twisted Oak by Sarah Hadley Brook

Do you ever wonder how authors come up with the fictional towns in their books? It's a little bit more involved than you think, though it is a lot of fun to do. Today, author Sarah Hadley Brook tells us how she came up with her setting of Ruby, Wyoming. And she has an important question for you to answer! Be sure to do so in the comments area and then follow the tour to hear even more from here. There's even an excerpt for you to enjoy before you download your copy. Best of luck entering the giveaway!

***********************

In The Twisted Oak, I wanted a small town readers could relate to. One filled with colorful characters—good and bad—and memorable places.

Once I came up with the details for Dwyer Ranch, I started researching Wyoming. I’m from Missouri, so I had a lot to learn about the state. And ranching!

I had a hard time coming up with the name of the fictional town until I was driving to my day job one morning and the name Ruby just popped into my head—I still don’t know where it came from! After confirming there wasn’t a real Ruby in Wyoming, I ran with it and began creating the various businesses and settings including the following:

  • The Sheriff’s Office
  • Ruby’s Diner: a classic-style diner that’s a staple on Main Street
  • Matthews & Renfrow, Attorneys at Law
  • Main Street in Downtown Ruby: filled with boutique shops and small businesses
  • Ruby Nights Bar: the local bar where Wade’s younger brother, Landon, performs with his band
  • Ruby’s Gems: the local jewelry store

So, hmmm, maybe I went a little overboard with Ruby, but after spending so much time working on this story and building up the town, I just couldn’t help myself! And if you enjoy The Twisted Oak, you can follow the characters—and new ones—in the sequel, which also takes place in Ruby.

I wanted the small town to be quaint, but modern, with a touch of nostalgia and I hope what I created reflects that to the readers. I am building on the town in the sequel.

If you were building a small town, what would you want to be present? A Starbucks? A McDonald’s? Maybe an Olive Garden? I’d love to hear your thoughts!

Wade Dwyer's life is turned upside down when his father dies and he learns he must marry or he and his siblings will lose the ranch. One last jab of the knife from his father. On top of that, his father's only friend knows about the stipulation and is determined to own the property by any means necessary.

He's facing the very real possibility of being the reason his family loses their home when his brother's best friend, Lance Matthews, offers to walk down the aisle with him. A faux marriage to the man he's loved for years is a torture he isn't sure he can endure.

Can he keep the ranch ... and the man of his dreams, too?

Read an excerpt:
“This is nice,” Wade said as he moved closer to the pictures. Lots of family photos, some of his graduation. It was like a timeline of Lance’s life. When his eyes fell on one photo, he stopped, leaning in. It was a picture of Wade, Casey, and Lance on the sofa, playing video games. Probably one of the many nights Lance spent there as a teenager. But Lance wasn’t watching the game. He was staring at Wade.

“I remember that night,” Lance whispered, suddenly by Wade’s side.

“Brings back memories,” Wade admitted. “Who took the picture?”

Lance blushed. “Landon had been bugging us to let him join in on the video games, so I handed him my phone and let him play something on there so he’d leave us alone.”

“Ahh, the little brother bribe. I know it well,” Wade said, grinning.

Lance laughed. “Well, he must have been bored, because when I got the phone back, there were a lot of new pictures. He took some of his room, the barn, the horses, and this one of us playing video games.”

Wade’s chest tightened. “You kept this one…why?” There was nothing really remarkable about the picture. Other than Lance staring at him. But that could have been anything. He could have said something funny or they could have been talking.

Lance’s cheeks pinked. “I just liked the picture.”

He cocked his head and stood in front of Lance. “No reason?”

The man took a step back, and suddenly they were in the same position in which they’d found themselves this morning in the hallway. Lance looked into his eyes and Wade’s heart did a somersault. Lance’s eyes were dark with desire.

“Tell me,” Wade ordered. “Tell me why you kept the picture, Lance. Why were you looking at me instead of the game? Were we talking?”

Lance shook his head. “No,” he breathed out, his voice shaky. “God, I remember like it was yesterday, though. Casey and I were playing a game and you came in and joined us. When you sat next to me…I couldn’t focus. I couldn’t even breathe.” He looked to the side.

Wade cupped his chin and tilted his head to face him. “Why? Tell me, Lance.”

Lance licked his lips. “Because I was crazy about you, Wade. And I was scared of my feelings.”

What Was I Thinking by Donna Simonetta with Guest Post and Giveaway

Welcome to the book tour for What Was I Thinking by Donna Simonetta! Today she is telling us about which one of her fictional worlds she would live in if she could. Have you visited this place in her books? Also enjoy an excerpt from her new book and then follow the tour for more fun and chances to win in the giveaway.

****************************

If you could live in one of your books, which one and why?

I do love the fictional town I created for my Rivers Bend trilogy, and it has some appeal, but if I were to live in one of my books I would have to choose Angels Fly. As I write this post, it is currently January in Baltimore, and there is snow on the ground. Which might sound nice to someone, but I am most decidedly NOT a winter person. Until I moved to Maryland, I had lived the rest of my life in New England…Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire. I got enough winter in those places to last a lifetime, and Angels Fly is set in sunny San Diego.

My brother-in-law moved to San Diego several years ago, and when my husband and I went to visit him there, I fell in love with the city. He was living on a houseboat in a marina right downtown, and it was such a fun neighborhood. The bay, restaurants, bars, excellent people-watching, and best of all––beautiful warmth and sunshine all year long! When I began to write Angels Fly I knew I wanted to set in that neighborhood. So I imagined two fabulous water view condos for James and Kelly.

The setting is only part of the reason I’d choose Angels Fly to live in, if I could. I also love the characters. When I write, I try to create well-rounded characters. And it takes a good bit of time to write a book from inception to publication, so by the time I’m done, I really feel like I know my characters. And all the characters in Angels Fly are people I could see myself being friends with, if I lived in their world. Okay…NOT the fallen angel characters, but the human ones are all nice people. Kelly is even a writer too, albeit a mystery writer and not a romance writer like me. James and she also grew up in Rye, New Hampshire, which is one town over from where my husband and I lived the first year we were married, and was the location of my favorite beach while we lived there. Their group of friends are all smart, funny, and loyal––just like my real-word friends, and I would love to get together with them for cocktails and laughs at a place on the waterfront.

It’s nice to fantasize about living in San Diego on a cold, winter’s day here in Baltimore, but truth be told, my life here is pretty, darned good. And while, I might like to visit the world of Angels Fly, I think I’ll stay right here. And spring and summer have to come back around sometime, right?

What Was I Thinking

A wild Vegas fling isn't the traditional Thanksgiving celebration, and Lily and Jason have been like oil and water since they met. Blaming their steamy hook-up on too many shots at the bar, they head home.

Back in the real world, Jason wonders if he's ready to give up his crown as the Playboy King of Rivers Bend to be with just one woman. And Lily has enough on her plate right now without adding Jason Braden to the mix, even if their attraction is crazy-strong.
But life is good at throwing curveballs, and a lot can happen between Thanksgiving and Valentine's Day. Maybe even enough to lead these two polar opposites home to each other in Rivers Bend.

Read an excerpt:
She felt him stiffen up behind her, and Jason’s tone of voice was defensive. She hadn’t meant to hurt his feelings. “I know you do; I didn’t mean anything by it. We poke at each other”––she shrugged––“it’s kind of our thing.”

His grip on her hand loosened, and then he took control of the dance, by twirling her until her back was pressed to his front, and he began to move sinuously in time to the rhythm. His breath tickled her ear, as he spoke right in it to be heard over the music. “We’ve got a thing, Moonbeam?”

Jason had ditched the tie and suit jacket after the wedding, and his body heat scorched her through his crisp white dress shirt. And man-oh-Maneschewitz, his lean, hard body felt good. Really good. The Marine might be bulked up, but Jason’s body felt like it had been made for hers, which given their mutual antagonism, seemed like proof Fate was enjoying a good laugh at her expense. Against Lily’s better judgment, her body melted into his warmth and began to move with his.

“Sure we’ve got a thing,” she said over her shoulder, and was irritated to hear a trace of breathlessness in her voice. She cleared her throat and continued, “Like that––you calling me Moonbeam, because you know it bugs me.”

The Perfect Lap

His job is to drive fast. Hers is to put the brakes on him. When sparks fly, will love cross the finish line?

AJ Ryan is a publicity nightmare. After a questionable photo surfaces and his biggest sponsor threatens to pull out, the NASCAR champion admits it might be time to hit the brakes. Thankfully, his new no-nonsense image consultant knows just where to start… too bad she revs his engine so loudly he can barely think straight.

Ella Fisher’s career is a welcome distraction from her poor taste in men. Fresh off another easily avoidable heartbreak, rehabbing AJ’s career is just the diversion she needs. But when the pulse-pounding client actually listens to her advice, Ella wonders if there’s more to the man behind the hot mess.

When Ella is granted guardianship of three boisterous children under the misconception that she and AJ are a couple, AJ surprises her by going along with the charade. Before long they find themselves in a make-shift family that feels more real than pretend.

As their professional relationship takes a hard turn for the personal, a single overheard conversation could make it all go up in flames. Will Ella and AJ’s romance hit the wall, or will love take the checkered flag?

The Perfect Lap is the second standalone novel in the Racing Hearts of Serenity romance series. If you like bad boys with a heart of gold, strong women, and love stories with a new age twist, then you’ll adore Sedona Hutton’s fun, sexy tale.

Read an excerpt:
“You’re too hard on yourself, darlin’,” he said. “You’re the most focused, persistent woman I’ve ever met.” He lifted her chin and gazed into her eyes. His eyes were a deep, soulful blue and as he intimately held her gaze, it reminded her of their first meeting and their instant, almost spiritual connection. “You’re kind, compassionate, caring.” His voice was so low that it was more like a whisper fluttering against her cheek. “The kids need that.”

She’d barely processed his sweet words when he leaned in.

He was going to kiss her! Holding her breath, she told herself to step back. It wasn’t appropriate—they were working together, he wasn’t her type, she was on a man-ban. The reasons to stop him were endless.
But as he continued to move toward her, she couldn’t. He grazed his lips overs hers in a tortoise-like motion as if testing the waters. His lips were warm and moist and her body pulsed and sparked as they generated heat hotter than hell and half of Georgia.

He drew back and held her gaze, presumably giving her one last chance to move away.

But she couldn’t. His consoling words had comforted her, his embraced had warmed her, and his kiss had left her wanting so much more.

As she acquiesced, the world around them transformed into a magical wonderland. The moon’s light softened and the stars appeared so close that she could reach out and touch them. Light glittered across the dark water like pixie dust and her belly fluttered as if it had been brushed by fairy wings.

The Brothers' Band by Liza Malloy

The Brothers' Band is a new women's fiction from Liza Malloy! This one is for those of you who like to read about musicians! There's an excerpt here for you to enjoy today before you download your own copy. And then be sure to follow the rest of the tour for even more, including a stop over at one of my other websites, Candrel's Crafts, Cooks, and Characters. Give the author your thoughts and ask some questions! And of course, there is a great giveaway at the end.

Bookworm Lily Mitchell vowed never to date another musician, but Dylan Parker is nothing like the stereotype. Sure, he’s mysterious and sexy, with a flashy car and serious bedroom skills, but he’s also smart, hardworking, and humble. He shares Lily’s passion for classic literature and constantly surprises her with romantic gestures. Their steamy relationship moves at whirlwind pace, and Lily has never been happier.

It’s all so perfect that at first, Lily wills herself to ignore the emerging red flags. As her worries about Dylan increase, she finds friendship and comfort in his brother and bandmate, Thomas. But Lily soon discovers that as much as Thomas cares for his brother, he’s also fallen hard for her.

As Dylan spirals further out of control, Lily must decide what she really wants, and whom she is willing to hurt.

Read an excerpt:
(From Chapter 2, 231 words)

I turned and saw that Dylan was staring at me. He leaned in slowly, placed his hands on my cheeks, and pulled me in for the kiss. His lips brushed against mine lightly at first, then relaxed into the kiss slowly. It was a polite kiss, the kind where I could tell he was holding back. Dylan ended the kiss before I was ready, while my entire body still ached to taste him. He’d offered me just enough to convince me that our chemistry wasn’t limited to conversation. His hands dropped from my cheeks, and he squeezed my hand in his. I blinked and tried to control my breathing.

“You’re terrible,” I finally mumbled, smiling.

He grinned in response.

“I mean, really. A sunset walk on the beach, a kiss at the top of the ferris wheel... So cliché.”

“And you love it,” he said.

“I do,” I admitted, glad he hadn’t taken my statement as an insult. I loved romance, and there was no denying that certain things were romantic. There was obviously a reason they became clichés.

“Are you hungry?” he asked when we deboarded.

“I could eat. What did you have in mind?”

He glanced around. “Hot dog and cotton candy?”

I laughed. Leave it to the wealthiest guy I’d ever dated to buy me an amusement park hotdog on our first date. “Works for me,” I said.

Far Reaching Consequences (Crescent City Kings #2) by Anya Summers

Welcome to the book blast for Far Reaching Consequences by Anya Summers! She's a frequent flyer here at Books to Light Your Fire. And now we have a new book to share with you. Enjoy the excerpt and then follow the tour for more. And of course, enter the giveaway as well!

Phoebe needs a second chance at life.

In the aftermath of the devastation from her failed marriage, Phoebe returns to her old stomping grounds to open her own bed and breakfast. Starting over is the bravest thing she’s ever done – or so she thinks. But opening her front door to find a blast from her past on her front porch changes all that. The teenager she’d once known has become a jaw-dropping, dominant man in his prime.

He wasn’t looking for a relationship until she blazed back into his life.

Graham runs his own construction business, remodeling homes, and building brand new ones. When his buddy gives him a lead on a new project, he never expects to run into Phoebe, the woman he shared a single kiss with eons ago. Nor is he prepared for the Dominant in him to stake his claim before the end of their first meeting. He wanted her in high school but there had been too wide a gulf separating them. Now, Graham will stop at nothing until he makes her his. But there are larger forces at work, attempting to tear them apart.

When everything Phoebe holds dear becomes a target, Graham will risk it all for the one woman he knows he can never live without.

Publisher’s Note: This steamy second chance romance contains elements of power exchange. While it is the second in the Crescent City Kings series, it can be enjoyed independently.

Read an excerpt:
“Graham? Graham Layton, is that really you? You’re the contractor Dante recommended?” Joy filtered into her voice as she stared at the blast from her past. It had been almost nineteen years since the night of the winter formal in high school. The night she had always considered one of the best of her life.

Surprise filtered over his handsome features. A grin split his face wide and his thick, dark chestnut brows rose to nearly beneath his hairline, almost touching the Rayban sunglasses shoved on top of his head. There were tiny laugh lines around his eyes that crinkled.

“Phoebe, as I live and breathe. Well, aren’t you a sight?” Graham dismissed all formalities, stepped through the doorway, and surrounded her with an effusive hug. She stiffened at the impromptu embrace, but only for a moment, because the delight of seeing him overrode her internal panic button.

She caught a whiff of him, a sinful mixture of man with traces of his soap, a spicy, exotic fragrance that made her want to bury her face in his chest and just inhale him. The boy she’d known on the cusp of manhood in the intervening years had grown into a powerfully built man. A very hot man, with a killer smile and a body that made her dead hormones rise from their early grave and pay attention before he released her. It left her dumbstruck: the sudden onslaught of disappointment that rose in her chest when he released her.

Wasn’t that just the oddest thing?

“It’s great to see you. If I’d known it was you…”

Graham gave a manly half-shrug as he stepped back. “It is a surprise—a nice one, to boot.”

Then he knelt, resting his elbows on his knees so that he was at eye level with Daisy, and held his hand out for her to sniff. “And who is this?”

“Daisy, this is Graham. He’s a friend.” Daisy glanced up at her for the okay, her golden eyes searching Phoebe’s face. When Phoebe nodded in the affirmative, Daisy’s stance relaxed, and she turned into a normal, goofy dog. She snuffled Graham’s hand, and then lavished his face with a few swipes of her pink tongue against his cheek before falling at his rather large feet as he stroked her fur and gave her a belly rub. Euphoria emanated from Daisy. And, for a split second, Phoebe wondered what it would feel like to have Graham rub her belly—and further south.

“Beautiful dog.” Graham rose with Daisy following him up into a sitting position from which she stared at him with adoration. “I cannot believe you’re the one who bought Riverland Plantation. When Dante gave me your name, it didn’t ring any bells.”

“Same. I didn’t realize you were G.C. Layton of Layton Construction. For me, it’s the last name that’s different. Probably why my name didn’t sound familiar to you.” Quite a few other things had changed as well, like that she no longer believed in love or happily ever after, or that she could depend on anyone but herself.
