Bait Part 1 (Alpha Billionaire Romance) by Colleen Charles FREE 425-4/29

Bait Part 1

Sexy East Coast playboy, Nolan Banks, is disturbing my perfectly buttoned-up life. He sleeps with celebrities, jets around the globe and thumbs his nose at the tabloids.

And every time he gets drunk and photographed with some random harlot claiming she's pregnant with his love child, I get the call.

Clean it up, Charlie.

Nolan's mess.

You see, I'm Charlene de Monaco, Nolan's corporate attorney.

Then he went and did it. Something so outrageous his daddy can't buy him out of it. I can't even lawyer him out of it. His only hope for redemption is pretending to straighten up and fly right. To act like he's in love with one woman. Committed. Monogamous.

It's a solid strategy.

Except for one fatal flaw.

He picks me.

From Award Winning #1 Romance Author Colleen Charles:

After 26 years in Corporate leadership at a Fortune 500, I discovered people within the organization lacked integrity. I'd always known deep in my soul that I was trying to fit a square peg in to a round hole since I'm the typical creative type. I miss my staff but I don't miss the corporate world. It's been said that the Universe will let you know if something isn't right for you. The first time, it will hit you with a pebble. Then a brick. Then a boulder. Let's just say that I got flattened. When my fifteen pound toy dog, Nigel, was threatened, I knew it was time to say goodbye.

It's sad but true.

Here's what I found within the first thirty days of being free. Writing stories from my heart that readers love means more to me than working myself in to an early grave for people who only care about their bottom line.

My heart has never been more full and my soul has never been more satisfied.

I've never worked so hard in my life but it doesn't even feel like work. It's worth it. All of it. Because it's about the joy that's found within the journey. The highs and the lows because I get to write stories for all of you.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading, enjoying and recommending the stories that I write. When you share my work with others, it's so rewarding. Your word of mouth is my very best friend ... that, and your reviews. There is nothing more important to me than all of you.

I love to hear from my readers and answer all communications personally.

Curvy Seduction: Rebound (A Curvy Serial Part One) by Aidy Award

Curvy Seduction: Rebound

Curvy Girls rebound with style.

Angelina is tired of being the chubby doormat of a rich girl. She's thrown out her no-good, cheating bastard of a fiancé and now she's ready to rebound...with some revenge sex. What better way than to go out on the town with her friend and secret crush, aka her bodyguard. But, he's made it clear they are nothing more than friends.

Gray has been Angelina's bodyguard for years and in love with her for every second. When she finally kicks her stupid fiancé to the curb he's got a chance to help her be the beautiful, strong, passionate woman he always knew she was.

But, he won't be her rebound.

He will help her find that kinky desirable side of herself. Even if it's with two other men.

Curvy Seduction: Rebound is the first in a six-part serial telling the story of Angelina, also known as the present day owner of Angels and Devils, the BDSM club from the Curvy Love series.

Each part has a full story, but will leave you wanting oh, so much more from this tempting couple.

You'll have lots of fun getting more and more of Gray and Angel's story in each part of this curvy seduction.

Read an excerpt:

“Let’s get out of here and do something fun to celebrate your freedom.”
“I am going to have fun. Sex is fun.” Or so I’d been told. Or so I had fantasized.
“So this is about the sex.”
I absolutely, positively, unequivocally refused to blush. I watched the bartender, mostly so I didn’t have to look Grayson in the eye while lying. “No.”
He leaned in close and whispered so softly in my ear, his breath heating my skin. “You’re a horrible liar.”
Liar, liar, pants seriously on fire. “I am not.”
He didn’t back off an inch. “If this isn’t about sex, why did your chest and neck flush?”

I could feel the heat creep up my face like the warmth from a good glass of red wine. “It’s the alcohol. Plus, why are you looking at my chest anyway?”
“There isn’t a man in here who isn’t.” His eyes rose back up to mine. “And you’ve only had about a half a sip of that whiskey and even less of the beer, so good try.”
I grabbed the shot glass, downed the remainder, and slammed it on the table. “Fine. It’s about the sex.”

The tables around us went quiet. Oops. I said that a bit too loud.

I smiled and held my beer aloft, toasting the gawkers.
If Gray didn’t like my plan, that was his problem. It had taken a lot of cajoling to get him to go along with my scheming, after several false attempts. I certainly didn’t have the cojones to do this on my own. I needed a friend…and a bodyguard to pull this off.
I lowered my voice for this go around. “So what if it is? I’m entitled to spread my wings, or in this case my legs, if I want to. If I want a one-night stand and to have sheet-sweaty, shouting sex, I’m going to have it. I’m not engaged anymore. I can have dirty, dirty sexcapades with anyone I want.”
Gray nodded and his eyes flicked down to my chest and back up. “Yes, you can. It’s about time, too.”
Uh, not the reply I expected. “What’s that supposed to mean?”
He chuckled. “Just that I doubt Sparky was very imaginative in the sack.”
“I have no response to that.” Mostly because the only correct comeback would have been duh.
Gray searched my eyes then smiled. “What turns you on, Angel?”
You. This time it was no light flitter in my belly, this was a full on hurricane of butterflies attacking my internal organs with a barrage of trembling beats. Oh no. “I’m not talking about this with you.”

“If you really want to get your rocks off, this isn’t the place to do it.”
“You’ve got someplace better?” I sipped my beer and looked around the dank bar. Okay, so anyplace was probably better than here.
“Yes.”
“Where?” Please say the carriage house, or the back of the limo, or my room, or on one of his motorcycles. Not that I had spent anytime fantasizing about how sex on Gray’s motorcycle would work.

Read an excerpt:

I shook my head. “I can't take your money. Besides, I don't think it will be enough. He could need years of chemo and extra treatment. I need a way of making money.”

It's always on offer if you need it. You know that.” She hugged me and I sighed.

But there isn't that much I can do to make money. I mean, I have thirty thousand and that might cover surgery. Might. It took Daddy and me around twelve combined years to save this money. I have no degree, nothing to sell, what more can I do?”

Have you thought of loans?” Martha asked.

I'm not sure I can get a loan for enough.”

What's your credit rating like?”

I seriously had no idea. Martha spent the next few hours trying to teach me about loans, credit cards and insurance. By the end of it we worked out that even if I took out a maximum loan at every bank I could get to, my rating was so invisible that there wouldn't be enough money.

I just don't know, Monica.” Martha sighed. “You don't really have any talents or anything in particular you can sell. Maybe if you accepted my money and took out the loans you could get him surgery and chemo, and then we could care for him ourselves. We'd have the debt collectors on our backs quickly, but at least he has a chance at surviving.”

I guess that's the only way. I just wish you didn't have to throw away all your savings and a few years of your life for this. It isn't fair.”

Martha shrugged. “Life isn't fair when you're poor. It's a trap.” She laughed a little.

Wait... there is something I could sell.” I corrected her. “Just... don't go crazy on me.”

What have you got? Anything is good if it gets you the money you need.”

Well, I've got... me.” I said.

No, no, no. You can't cheapen yourself like that! Besides, do you know how many guys you'd have to sleep with to make that sort of money?”

Or I could find one or two crazy rich guys.”

Yeah, like a millionaire would pay to have sex with a poor chick like us... unless... Monica, have you ever heard of sugar daddies?”

I nodded. I had. It was the dream of many a young poor girl to end up marrying a rich man who could lift us up out of the neighborhood and let us live the lives of our dreams.

Well, there is this online movement now... It's basically sugar daddies and sugar babies finding each other. Maybe if we create an account for you we can find someone with more money than sense. A guy who is prepared to throw a hundred thousand bucks your way in the first few weeks of knowing you. They're out there. We just need to sex you up a bit, take a picture and write a steamy profile for you.”

I was a little taken aback at first. But I had been the first one to suggest selling myself. So I put on a brave face and we looked into it. Sure enough, there were websites wholly dedicated to rich men looking for pretty young women to spoil rotten. So we had a look at successful profiles to work out how to word things, took some nice pictures of me in some of Martha's sister's sluttier dresses and made an account.

A part of me had secretly hoped I would get a sudden influx of messages. But sugar babies outnumbered sugar daddies hundreds, maybe even thousands to one and after a few hours tensely waiting I called it a day and went home. Once home I decided not to tell my father much. Just that the money wouldn't be enough so I was thinking of ways to make more money. He would hate it if he knew I was basically becoming a very expensive escort to make money for his surgery. So I didn't exactly lie. I just didn't tell him the truth.

The next day I was patient all day and didn't log onto the site at all. I wanted to keep calm and responsible. That evening I checked my messages. I had four or five. But two were from other sugar babies and all were saying the same thing. That I was too big, too fat, too ugly to be a sugar baby. That I was bringing the site down. That I was wasting my time. It upset me, but I just deleted the messages and held out a bit.

But day after day it was the same rubbish. Messages from other site members reminding me that I didn't belong. Even when a potential sugar daddy was interested, the second he heard how much I wanted and what I wanted it for he would accuse me of being too expensive, tell me that I should be grateful for his offer and claim I was going to spend it all on drugs anyway.

It seemed like even selling yourself was only for cute, thin, white, middle-class girls. Poor Hispanic girls with big curves and a strong attitude need not apply. Being so poor was how come I was looking at this work. And it was apparently also a reason for everyone to reject me.

I was starting to lose hope when his message came through.

'Load the Dice' by Moriah Gemel

Load the Dice
by Moriah Gemel

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
BLURB:
Eric left the BDSM scene years ago because he couldn’t find the right partner, opting instead to meet men in quiet coffee shops and piano bars. But when his friend invites him to a posh hook-up party, he meets first time sub Jamie, who he convinces to detail his sexual fantasies during a passionate night together.
The pair soon embark on a relationship that introduces Jamie to the BDSM scene, and plays out his fantasies one by one. But as they approach the final fantasy, will Eric be able to walk away?
This book was first available online as an episodic, serialized novel—it is now available in its entirety!!
Read an excerpt:
He crawls onto the bed and straddles Jamie’s thighs, his clothed body barely touching Jamie’s, and Jamie whimpers. “Are you still wearing all your clothes?” he asks breathlessly, and Eric leans down and kisses the top of his spine, letting him feel the fabric of his clothes over his bare body.
“Yes, I am,” Eric says, and Jamie rocks down into the bed.
“Oh god, that’s so hot.”
Eric chuckles, and then sits back up, making sure to keep as little contact as he can.
“I want you to tell me about your fantasies,” Eric says. “For every fantasy you tell me, I will explore one part of your body with my mouth and hands. The more details you give, the more I will pay attention to the spot I’m on.” This gives Jamie just a little bit of control, and lets Eric know the kinds of touches he likes best. Jamie can decide if he wants to keep Eric somewhere or move on—it’ll keep him on his toes, and Eric has one more trick up his sleeve to ensure it.
“But if you stop talking,” he adds, “and you don’t move on to the next fantasy, or tell me more about the one you’re on, you will be punished. Is that understood?”
Jamie whimpers again, nodding.
“I need an answer, Jamie.”
“Yes, sir.”
Eric kisses the top of his spine again. “Good boy. Number the fantasies as you go. You may begin.”
Special announcement from author Nazarea Andrews
Today we are revealing a special announcement from author Nazarea Andrews. Check out the author's note, excerpt, and teaser below for details!
SHADES OF BLUE announcement 2
NOTE FROM NAZAREA ANDREWS:
This year, I’m doing something super fun—I’m releasing an entire novel in serial format, with a new installment coming every week. And the only way to read it is to sign up for my newsletter!!! I know, I know! Newsletter—all the spam. But I promise. No spam. Aside from the weekly story updates, I’ll probably send one newsletter a month announcing new releases or upcoming events. And that’s it.
So here’s a bit about this sexy new thriller.
Shades of Blue
Caledon Peterson came to Northern University for one thing: to find his missing brother. But the college is a hive of secrets, and he’s quickly drowning in them.
Indigo Kennish is a junior, an activist and an enigma, someone he can’t quite figure out with electric blue hair, a bad attitude, and lips he can’t quit thinking about. Violet Rice is the picture perfect sorority girl, daughter of the dean and blatant about wanting him. But neither girl is telling him the whole truth.
And someone is killing students at the university.
As the body count grows, and the truth about his brother comes to light Caledon is drawn closer to both girls, and the secrets threaten to bury them all.
Go back to Northern in a new novel that tells the curse of Bluebeard in a modern dark thriller where you never know who to trust.
Newsletter link: http://eepurl.com/MtHwj
  Shades Teaer 3
EXCERPT FROM SHADES OF BLUE:
I hate Northern. I hated it when I visited it the first time, when I told Dad to fuck himself and his alma mater. I hated it every time I came back, for one of my brother’s graduation.
I hate it now, more than ever. Because this time I’m here to find the brother who vanished on its fucking campus. I sit on the stone stoop, and stare at the students bustling around campus like it holds the secrets to their entire world.
Hell, maybe it does. For me, it holds the secrets of my brother, and that’s enough. Freshman orientation is in an hour, and I stretch my legs. It wouldn’t do to be late, not at my first official function.
A few girls sashay by, and I can feel their eyes, hot and assessing.
It’s not terribly surprising. I’m a Peterson, after all. We are born lucky, blessed with wealthy and intelligence, and damn good genetics. I flash them a quick smirk, and one, the one in the middle, blushes, a deep bloom of color that trails down her neck. I laugh soundlessly as the ringleader pulls away her minions, gossiping as fast as they go.
Lane has been missing for six months. Since March. And the cops say nothing happened—he answers his emails, and he says he’s in Europe for a while, getting a fresh look on shit after a bad breakup.
But I know my brother. And Lane isn’t in fucking Europe. He hated Europe—we always ditched mom and dad, ending up in some shitty hotel in Amsterdam, blitzed out of our minds. Dad hated that I subverted Lane. The older guys never fell for my shit. But Lane—we were separated by three years, but he was the best friend I could ask for.
I shake my head, and glance down at the email again. It’s from last October, talking about a girl he had just started seeing, a girl who would break his heart. They’re saying he ran from her.
Now available on Amazon
US \ UK
About the author:
C. T. Brown is an author, archer and photographer – at least that’s what I tell myself while moving numbers around on spreadsheets in my day job as a data analyst. Trust me – if you spent your days as a data monkey you would need creative outputs too, companies generally don’t like it if you get too creative with the numbers on the spreadsheets (it tends to lead to court cases, arrests and other such non-fun activities). I have been very happily married to my muse since 2010 and I use the word ‘muse’ because without her I would never have completed my first novel, she gave me the confidence to do it. I can be contacted by email at archerctb@yahoo.com or through my blog (http://archerctb.wordpress.com), all messages offering large sums of money will be gratefully accepted.
'Chasing Rain: Episode One' by Ariel Adams
Blurb:
Rayne, a vampire-human hybrid, decides her eighteenth birthday is the perfect time to demand more independence from her coven and the wolf shifters hired to protect her. But no one can protect her heart from the pack's alpha, Blaze.
When a moment of passion has near lethal consequences, it only proves that water and fire don't mix.
In episode one, Rayne realizes her affection for the man that has been her bodyguard since birth is more than just a young girl's crush. Can Blaze follow his heart, or will his moral code prevent him from pursuing what he knows is meant to be?
Anyone who loves the wolves in Twilight or True Blood will enjoy this serialized novel.
Excerpt:
Blaze and Rayne had been running for hours when her body stiffened in pain. She grabbed her stomach and sank to her knees.
He slid to a stop, leaving deep gouges in the dirt with his claws, then shifted immediately. He didn’t wait for Rayne to toss him his shorts or turn around. He didn’t even warn her to close her eyes. She’d never seen anyone shift before. One instant he was a beautiful grey wolf. The next, a man. A gorgeous, ripped and very naked man. She caught a brief glimpse of his most private parts then slammed her eyes shut.
Blaze gently pried his shorts from her fist.
She cracked one eye, but he’d already turned his back, so she opened the other. This view was almost as impressive as the other. He jerked his shorts on then spun around as he zipped them.
If Blaze was embarrassed about Rayne seeing him naked, he didn’t show it. He placed his hand on her forehead. "What's going on? You feel a little warmer than usual. Your heart rate is a little elevated. Do you have a fever?”
Ever since Blaze started his EMT training, he was even more of a worrywart than usual.
“My heart rate is elevated because I was running.” Rayne pushed his hand off her forehead. “And I’ve never had a fever before so how would I know?”
The concerned look on his face tweaked her conscience for snapping at him. “I’m sorry. I've been feeling a little irritable lately."
She bit her lower lip and dropped her gaze to the ground as she thought about her violent mood swings. Irritable didn't begin to cover it. "I don't know what's wrong with me. I cry at things I used to just laugh at. I get extremely angry without much provocation. I'm always screaming at Kane to 'bite me'." Her face flushed with shame. She was the one doing all the biting. "But right now, the main thing that's bugging me are these damn stomach cramps.”
She was in Blaze's arms and flying through the jungle on the way back to the compound before she even realized he’d picked her up. Her cheek pressed against his naked chest. She didn’t mean to read his mind, but the sudden skin to skin contact caught her off guard.
His thoughts raced even faster than his heart. He was afraid.
"Blaze, stop. I’m fine. Really.”
Got to get her back to the compound so Weston can figure out what’s wrong.
"No, Blaze! I don't want to be poked and prodded all night. Those titanium needles really hurt!" There were very few things that could pierce her deceptively tough hybrid skin. Titanium happened to be one of them.
But Blaze didn’t listen to a word she said. He didn’t even acknowledge her objections in his mind. His thoughts jumped from one medical emergency to the next…appendicitis, parasitic infection, cancer.
They barely made it through the gate when Dad ran up to Blaze and snatched Rayne out of his arms. She was on the examination table in Weston’s medical hut before she could blink.
Weston was already gowned and gloved with his instruments laid out in the sterile operating room. Baylee shooed everyone outside while Elise stripped Rayne and swiped her stomach with an orange liquid.
Everything was happening too fast. “What’re you doing?”
“Blaze thinks you might have appendicitis.”
“He also thinks I have parasites and cancer.”
“There’s no way to know what’s going on until Weston examines you.”
Rayne grabbed Elise’s arm. “Don’t let him cut me open.”
Weston used his titanium needles to draw enough blood to feed an entire coven of vampires for a week. He also examined every part of Rayne. Elise stayed with her and held her hand. It helped, but Rayne couldn’t keep tears of humiliation from running into her ears as she stared at the waterfall poster tacked to the ceiling. At least she didn’t need any surgeries.
Weston nodded at Elise.
She let go of Rayne’s hand then nodded back.
Rayne wished they’d just speak out loud. She hated that she couldn’t read their thoughts without touching them. Her gaze darted between Elise and Weston. “What’s wrong with me?”
Elise’s eyes brimmed with tears, but her smile was one of pure joy, not sympathy. Weston’s face also bore a grin that lit up his entire countenance.
“Why are you two so happy?”
Elise leaned over and kissed Rayne’s forehead, sharing her thoughts. You aren't sick. You’re fertile.”
Rayne walked from the infirmary to the house in a daze. Female vampires were sterile. Rayne had been conceived when Mom was still human. She didn’t agree to let Weston turn her until after they found Cooper and learned that Rayne was also immortal. Mom didn’t want to watch her baby grow old and die while she remained forever young. Rayne learned all this before anyone realized she could read and, more importantly, understand their thoughts.
As soon as they figured it out, the vamps and shifters learned to keep at least one layer of cloth between themselves and Rayne if they didn’t want her to know what they were thinking.
Blaze’s voice was the first to reach Rayne’s ears. “I’m not leaving until someone tells me what’s wrong with Rayne.”
She froze in her tracks and grabbed Elise’s hand. “Don’t tell Blaze.”
Elise cocked her head to the side and frowned. “Why on earth not?”
“It’s embarrassing.”
“Oh, sweetheart.” Elise cupped Rayne’s face with her palms. “This is exciting, miraculous news.”
“Dad doesn’t think so.” He sounded angry as he ordered Blaze to leave.
“She’s got stomach cramps!” Blaze shouted at Dad. Not a wise thing to do. “If you know what’s wrong, why won’t you tell me?”
“Because it’s none of your business.”
“She has cramps, Blaze.” Mom used her peacekeeper voice. “Think about it. Remember Mrs. Sander’s health class?”
The house fell completely silent.
Rayne counted her heartbeats. One. Two. Three. Four.
“Are you shitting me?” Blaze laughed. “Why didn’t you just say so?”
Rayne’s face burned. So did her eyes. She blinked furiously. Blaze was laughing at her.
About the author:
Leonard Belmont is a Montreal-based writer who enjoys the little things that life has to offer. He first began writing as a way to explore both himself and the world around him. This exploration led to a spiritual journey of discovery.
A parapsychologic writer, Leonard Belmont seeks truth through automatic writing, a process where he lets his inner-most thoughts and ideas flow onto the paper without conscious critique. This autopilot exploration unearths the unconscious secrets our spiritual self keeps from our conscious, critical self.
With his background in psychology and sociology, Leonard has a unique perspective on both himself and his fellow man. In his writings he ponders the feelings and emotions that people experience each day. From love and passion to guilt and melancholy, he seeks to understand the relationship people have with each other and with Mother Nature herself. When Leonard isn't writing, he enjoys nature and the sensory joys of the world. He has traveled throughout Asia and Europe to experience the natural and spiritual gifts different cultures offer. He loves photography and often takes pictures of nature's seasons and the monuments created by mankind.
'Falling Between (Introduction to the Vaettir Serial)' by Sara C. Roethle
Blurb:
Madeline would never risk another life by falling in love again, not with what happened last time...at least not until she found some answers. Unfortunately answers sometimes come in rather strange packages, and the knowledge of the Vaettir comes with a steep price. Now she must make a choice between the life she thought she wanted, and a life among others like her. The only catch is that the others like her, including the flirtatious yet dangerous Alaric, expect her to do their dirty work.
Read an excerpt:
A crackling sound caught my attention. I jumped, ready to fend off my attacker, then realized the sound had come from the simple stone fire-place in the far wall. My first thought was that perhaps fire could be used as a weapon, but I had nothing to wield it with. That was just like my attackers to not leave me a torch.
 “You're not supposed to be awake yet,” a voice said from behind me.
 I nearly stumbled as I tried to turn around too quickly. A man stood framed in the doorway. He wore black slacks and no shirt or shoes. It was an odd look that made it seem as if he simply hadn't finished dressing yet . . . or perhaps he just hadn't finished un-dressing.
'Naked Edge (S1:E1)' by Ariel Adams
Naked Edge: Season 1 Episode One
This is book 1 of a serialized novella. Each episode is a cliffhanger.
A sexy paramedic tries to protect his heart from the adrenaline junkie that shattered it four years ago.
The first time Skylar and Rusty give themselves to each other completely--heart, mind, body and soul--is also the night Skylar disappears without a trace. Rusty promised to love her forever. But forever is a long time when you're only seventeen.
After years of waiting, Rusty gives up on Skylar and tries to purge her memory with cheap tequila and casual sex. When Skylar finally returns, Rusty is no longer the shy, sweet boy she fell in love with. He's a gorgeous, hard-bodied, paramedic and an expert in just about every type of mountain wilderness rescue. He's also bitter, angry and determined to protect what remains of his shattered heart. Skylar's determined to reclaim it, but first she has to put it back together.
Read an excerpt:
Rusty turns my hands over and kisses both palms. “I didn’t break any of my promises until after the funeral.”
My heart stops. I take a step back to give myself some breathing room. “Why then?”
“I ran out of excuses.” He shrugs. “You were nineteen. I couldn’t blame your absence on your parents anymore.”
“Is that when you started to hate me?”
“I never hated you.” Rusty lifts my chin with his forefinger and ducks his head to capture my gaze. “I tried. Everyday since the funeral, I tried to hate you. But it never worked. I could be angry with you, furious even, but hate you? Never.”
I’m melting into a puddle of Rusty-adoring goo. I need to reestablish a few boundaries, before I forget how. I rock back on my heels.
Rusty slides his calloused palms down my arms, guiding my hands to his shoulders. He digs his fingers into my hips and pulls me against his body. Holy crap, he’s hard.
I instinctively lean into him. We’re both trembling.
I sway on my feet. “Can we sit down? I’m feeling a little lightheaded.”
He pulls back, and searches my face. “Do you need your inhaler?”
“No. I’m just nervous.”
He chuckles. “Me too.”
“You’re nervous?”
“I haven’t done this in a long time.”
“That’s not what I heard.” I push away from him.
He catches my wrists, completely encircling them with his fingers. His voice deepens to a growl. “What have you heard?”
“That you’re with a different girl every night.” I stare into his eyes, daring him to lie to me.
“That’s a gross exaggeration.” He lets go of my hands and sits on the edge of the bed.
I sit beside him and put a hand on his knee. “I get that you felt betrayed. And I understand why you broke your promise to never make love to anyone but me. But I don’t understand—”
“I didn’t break that promise.”
“Don’t lie to me, Rusty.” My heart aches. I hate that he sleeps around, but I can forgive him as long as he stops doing it and doesn’t lie about it. If he lies, we don’t have a chance.
“I’ve fucked more women than I can count, but you’re the only one I’ve ever made love to.”
I really shouldn’t find that obscene remark the least bit endearing. I bite my lip to keep from smiling. I can’t let him think for one second that I’m okay with his promiscuity. Because I most certainly am not.
“I’ve never kissed anyone but you, either.” His cheeks flush. I definitely find that endearing.
“You’re joking, right?”
“I don’t like kissing, so I don’t do it.” He cups my cheek. “If anyone has a problem with it, they can walk away.”
“Has anyone ever walked away?”
He quirks one side of his mouth up into a lopsided grin then caresses my lower lip with his thumb. “Never.”
“That cocky attitude of yours is not the least bit sexy.” My shallow, rapid breathing and racing heart indicate otherwise. Who’s the liar now?
He brushes his lips across mine, barely touching them, softer than the stroke of a butterfly’s wing. He kisses my neck, right below my ear. “Did you seriously just use cocky and sexy in the same sentence?”
“I thought you didn’t like kissing.” I tilt my head, giving him better access to my throat.
He kisses a trail across my collarbone. “I don’t like kissing anyone but you.”
My eyelids flutter shut.
He brushes his lips across mine again. Once, twice, and then his mouth captures mine. His tongue sweeps across the seam of my lips, a subtle request for permission to enter.
I can’t refuse him. He tastes so good. A hint of cinnamon layered over something that is pure Rusty. I search for an analogy so I can always remember it. His taste, his smell. God I missed it. But how do you describe the taste of pure bliss? He moves slowly, gently. So tenderly. His kiss is just as I remembered. It awakens something deep inside me. Something that has lain dormant for the past four years. A whole-body yearning that’s so intense it’s painful.
I love that he’s being careful with me, but I need more. I keep one hand over his heart and tangle the other in his hair. I pull his face closer and suck his lower lip into my mouth.
A primitive, animalistic sound rumbles deep inside his chest, vibrating against my palm. He thrusts his tongue into my mouth. No longer gentle, he’s claiming more than just my lips. I follow his lead as he establishes a seductive rhythm that promises so much more.
